SIMCHAT TORAH - REJOICING IN THE TORAH
We will celebrate Simchat Torah
on
Monday 21st October
at
Mowbray Baptist Church Hall,
45 Main Road, Mowbray. (parking on site)
Time: 18h15
Our celebration will include reading the final portion in the book of Deuteronomy, rolling the scroll back to the beginning, and commencing to read the new annual cycle in Genesis 1:1.
After this, we will dance around carrying the Sefer Torah in a procession. Kids are welcome.
Our speaker is Edie Sher
The service will be followed by a bring ‘n share supper. “milchik” i.e. no meat products, please. Bring vegetable quiches, fried fish, fish cakes (no crab, lobster etc), Cheeses and crackers, vegetable sticks and dips, ready made sandwiches (fillings: cheese, tuna, egg etc). Please also bring lots of juice to quench our thirst!
